Ben Addy established Moxon in 2004. He was educated at the Edinburgh College of Art and the Bartlett School of Architecture. During the course of his studies he received the Edinburgh Architectural Association J.R. Mackay Medal and an RIBA commendation for his undergraduate work as well as a Distinction from UCL for his Diploma thesis.
Ben actively cultivates an inquisitive and exploratory design process in all of the practice’s projects.
In 2005 he was the youngest recipient of the Architects Journal / Corus Steel ‘40 Under 40’ awards for architects in the UK. In addition to his role in Moxon, for nine years Ben ran award winning Degree Units in Architectural Design at the Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment [UCL]. He is a member of the Cairngorms LEADER assessment panel and sits on the RIBA’s Building Futures Advisory Board. He is a regular contributor to events and debates in the field of architecture with recent contributions to events held by the RIBA and London Architecture Biennale. Ben has lectured at universities throughout the UK and Europe and has sat on the jury of a number of architectural competitions including the Civic Trust Awards and the Scottish Design Awards.
